The 2023 NFL draft underwent in Union State, Kansas City. The three days of the draft have concluded, and fans witnessed a lot of interesting stuff. The Houston Texans probably made the best move in the draft as they had the 2nd and 3rd overall picks with which they selected QB C.J. Stroud and OLB Will Anderson Jr.
Then there was the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s kid Kyle Stickles, who won everyone’s heart as he announced the New York Jets’ 15th overall pick DE Will McDonald. And how can anyone forget the epic humiliation of Kentucky QB Will Levis who experienced a draft day slide? Levis arrived in style at Kansas City on the first day of the draft with his family, but unfortunately, he was not picked by any team. He was then luckily selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round.
One of the most interesting details to notice is – How is the jersey ready for the player during the draft? The selections aren’t made public until NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reads them out. Then how is the exact jersey ready? Well, no need to look further anymore because the answer is right here!

What is the process for preparing player jerseys during the NFL Draft?
In 2012, Nike became an NFL sponsor and since then they are responsible for the preparation of jerseys during draft day. A team from Stahls is present on-site during the draft consisting of three players.
There are four jerseys of every team on a rack and they have the names ready of the players who are attending the first round. The interesting thing to note here is that the names have to be ready in the font and style of all 32 teams because of the unpredictability of the selection.
When the pick is announced, the person responsible for pressing the name on the jersey is given notice and they quickly press out the nameplate on the right jersey. Then the jersey is handed over to the commissioner just in time as the player approaches the stage.
The really cool detail is that this entire process is done in under 2 minutes! While this process sounds extremely cool and easy, it’s actually a high-pressure job because the person has to have everything ready with the right name on the right jersey. So far there haven’t been any mishaps involving a wrong jersey, but maybe there’s a first time for everything and fans might get to see one happen in the future.
