American golfer Brian Harman won the 151st Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England, last year, claiming his first major title with a dominating performance. Harman led from the second round onward.
Despite some early hiccups on the final day, he maintained his composure, securing victory with a one-under 70 and finishing the event at 13-under par.
The event was held from July 20 to 23, 2023, boasting a strong lineup that included major champions Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Jason Day. Despite the competition, Harman came out on top, claiming the Claret Jug Trophy.
His win also earned him a $3 million winner’s share of the $16.5 million overall prize pool. It was the largest payout of his career, surpassing his previous high of $1.8 million.
