Sergio Garcia won the LIV Golf Andalucia in dramatic fashion, claiming both the individual and team titles in a playoff. The Spaniard shot a final-round 66 to force a playoff with overnight leader Anirban Lahiri. Garcia then prevailed on the second playoff hole.

His Fireballs team also won the team playoff against the Crushers. It was Garcia’s first individual LIV Golf victory. The 44-year-old thrilled the home crowd at Valderrama, a course he loves. Garcia’s last professional win came in 2020, and he had lost all three prior LIV Golf playoffs before finally breaking through on Sunday.

The triumph was a special moment for Garcia, who had missed out on qualifying for The Open Championship just 10 days prior.

It's been hard losing a couple of playoffs this year, being really close to qualifying for The Open and trying to make it my 100th major, just missing [out] like 10 days ago. It's been a roller coaster for sure.
