Plants are found everywhere in the game and they can range from huge trees several blocks high, to one block tall fungus on the ground. A variety of flora spawn in all the three dimensions of the game, namely, the Overworld, the End and the Nether. The plant variants vary and also are used in a variety of purposes like crafting and making items.

The Minecraft Nether Warts are a variety of fungus that can be found only growing in the Nether realm and is one of the most important items in the creation of potions.

Locations and Spawn
Players can find Nether Warts growing naturally in a Nether Fortress and in Soul Sand gardens that are found near the base of a staircase. These soul sand gardens can also be found in the housing unit in Bastion Remnants.
They can be rare and very hard to find as every Fortress and Remnant does not have the Nether Warts. Players can break it with their hand or any tool.
Nether Warts can also be found in Chests inside Nether Fortresses.
Uses for Nether Warts
- The Nether Warts are one of the most useful blocks while making potions and is used in brewing the base potion, the awkward potion. This is the base for all potions in the game and is a must to obtain.
- It can also be crafted in Nether Wart Blocks and Red nether Bricks, which count as cosmetic materials.
- Players can also obtain Emeralds by trading 22 nether warts to a Master level cleric villager. However, this is not advisable as emerald barely serves any purpose in the game.
- It can also be planted in Soul sand to farm it effectively and get more for long term. It goes through 4 stages of growth and is harvestable in the fourth stage.
- Minecraft Nether Warts can be used in a Composter to raise the level of compost by one.
