How to make a Furnace in Minecraft?
The Furnace in Minecraft is one of the most basic and useful items in the game. The players have to acquire a Furnace early on to be used in a variety of tasks. Here’s how to build one from scratch in the game.

Furnace in Minecraft
The Furnace block in Minecraft is used for smelting blocks to acquire ores or cooking food. This block is one of the most basic because of its uses from very early on.

Players need to smelt iron blocks to make a variety of mandatory items like iron swords, iron tools like pickaxe, hoe and axe, iron armor and more. These items are absolutely necessary to progress through the game and therefore its better to acquire a Furnace pretty early on.
How to make a Furnace ?
Players need only two items to craft a Furnace from scratch and these are:
- Crafting Table
- Cobblestones x8
Making a Crafting table only requires planks from blocks of tree. Players need 4 planks to make one Crafting table in their Minecraft Inventory.
After making a crafting table, it is best to make a wooden pickaxe to help mine the Cobblestones. Players can make it by making sticks from planks, and then arranging 3 planks and 2 sticks in the way shown above to create a wooden pickaxe.
After creating a Pickaxe, players need to mine cobblestone blocks and obtain 8 of them to make a Furnace.

How to use the Furnace?
A Furnace can be used to smelt or cook using a source of fuel.
Players simply need to click on the furnace and put the item in the top box and the fuel in the bottom box to start the smelting/cooking. Players can smelt Iron blocks, Gold blocks, cobblestone and more using Coal, wood or sticks as fuel.
Each item requires approximately 10 seconds to be processed.
