Lingering Potions can be thrown on the ground, similar to splash potions, but they stay on the ground longer. When broken, they will create a cloud of status effects that will linger around the area broken for over a period of 30 seconds.

Any mob or players that walks through this cloud will get the status effect. But the duration and effects of the status effect will decrease as the clouds get smaller over time. If the mob stand in the cloud then the status effect can apply more than once. This can be thrown by the players or be even shot out by the Dispenser.

They are used as a Crafting Ingredients in Tipped Arrows and can also be used to fill up a Cauldron.
