Pistons are not found naturally spawning anywhere in the world of Minecraft and players need to build them from scratch to obtain them.
When powered with redstone pulse, the Piston head will move and the blocks on the top of it will be moved up and suspended in the air. If the block is a loose block, then it will fall after being pushed up. Players can also use them to push blocks, mobs and entities sideways or even down below.
However, unlike the Sticky Pistons in Minecraft, the Piston cannot move the block back along with it. Therefore, it can only push blocks in one direction. The Piston can move 12 blocks stacked overtop of side-by-side at most and makes a sound when doing so.
