Back in December 2023, Hulk Hogan got baptized at the age of 70. Recently, he sat down with CBN Sports and openly spoke about his dedication to his newly-found faith. During the interview, the Hulkster recalled a bone-chilling story about the WWE Hall of Famer, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Hogan revealed that he received a voice message from his former rival, two days after his demise. 

The 70-year-old found it not only eerie but bizarre, as the pair weren’t on the best terms throughout their careers. However, once they did set aside their differences, the two would converse about spirituality. In the 2021 A&E documentary about Hot Rod, the former WWE Champion played the voicemail. In the message mentioned, the legend was reiterating his love for Jesus Christ and Hogan.

Surprised by this, the Hulkster claimed that Roddy Piper wouldn’t have said this when he was alive. The rivalry between the two dates back to the 1980s. Piper played the villain to Hulk Hogan, who was on a meteoric rise at the time. At the first WrestleMania, the duo would be on opposite ends in the main event tag team match.

But this text message came in two days after he died and the message goes ‘I’m just loving you, my brother. Just walkin’ with Jesus. Walkin’ with Jesus and loving you, my brother,’ I was like, ‘He would have never said that when he was here. It is amazing how things work.

According to reports, Piper and Hogan’s on-screen rivalry translated into real-life animosity between the two. Similar to the real-life Terry Boulder, Hot Rod didn’t like to lose too often. As a result, this carried on to their runs in WCW. However, prior to Piper’s death, Hogan revealed that he had resolved his issues with him and that they had become good friends.

Similar to this feud with Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan had a historic rivalry with Andre the Giant. In the interview with CBN Sports, the 70-year-old recounted his relationship with the first WWE Hall of Famer. Hogan revealed that Andre received a lot of slack for his body size.

The Hulkster recalled how people would hurl insults at the legend at airports. Furthermore, he claimed that he helped Andre push his beds together at hotels. While expressing his love and appreciation for the 8th Wonder of the World, Hogan said that he considered him a mentor and misses Andre to this day.

Obviously, fans are aware of the historical significance of these two’s match at WrestleMania 3. More precisely, the moment when Hogan bodyslammed Andre in the ring. Needless to say, it’s not surprising to see why the former WWE Champion speaks about his rival so fondly.
