When Hulk Hogan turned up on the Netflix premiere of Raw, he got some whiplash. The sold-out crowd at the Intuit Dome turned on The Hulkster and booed him heavily. There’s been a lot of different takes from people within the business talking about why it happened. But this time around, it’s come straight from the horse’s mouth.
Hogan was a guest last afternoon on The Pat McAfee Show. McAfee mentioned that the WWE HOF’er had already pissed off half of the country after his association with Donald Trump and wondered if the negative reaction on Raw was just a receipt coming Hulk’s way.
The latter admit that he did expect to be booed partly because he was part of the NWO the last time he showed up on a WWE show in LA. On top of that, Terry Bollea‘s “Hollywood Hogan” gimmick back then was one of the most despicable acts on TV. That said, Hogan didn’t shy away from stressing that politics also played a massive role in distorting his image among the Democrat-heavy state of California.
The former World Champion said he had to act like a “good guy” on Raw a few weeks ago solely to highlight the business partnership between his beer brand and WWE.The Immortal One affirmed if he were in character, he would’ve lashed out at the fans the way they did to him.
Claiming that since those people want some hatred, Hogan wished them good luck for when Kamala Harris becomes the Governor of California, and they’d be queuing up for soups, he’ll see them. Hulk’s beef with Harris was on display quite recently as he was politicking for then-presidential candidate and current POTUS Trump.
The Undertaker laughs off Hulk Hogan’s heavily trolled Raw appearance
Another legend who featured on Raw’s Netflix debut is The Undertaker. His role on the show saw him share a special on-stage moment with Rhea Ripley. The Phenom recently got asked about the entire Hulk Hogan debacle on his Six Feet Under podcast. As soon as Hogan’s name came up, Taker started guffawing.
The Deadman mentioned that after The Hulkster returned backstage, the latter was no-selling the reception he got. Instead, the 71-year-old meant business and pushed his Real American beer.
Also, when Justin Nunley, who made a guest appearance on the podcast, asked Taker if he felt bad about Hogan’s fate, the Texan great said no. Admitting that he does have feelings, the 59-year-old claimed that sometimes in life, one reaps what they sow—alluding to Hogan’s controversial history with racism.
