Sports Cards are a huge industry all over the world, and professional wrestling has made its own subspace within the product. Wrestling cards have been popular for several decades now, featuring some of the most famous superstars, like The Rock, John Cena, and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Hulk Hogan, arguably the most popular wrestler of all time, recently set a new record when it comes to sports cards.
A Hulk Hogan card recently made history after becoming the most expensive sports card ever. This card sold for $132,000 at a recent auction. The card belongs to a Wrestling All-Stars series that dates back to 1982. The card features the Hulkster right before his meteoric rise in WWF. Shortly after signing with Vince McMahon, he went on to become one of the most recognizable faces on the planet.
Heritage Auctions has described the card as being brightly colored, with sharp corners, clean and unchipped borders, and perfect centering. The card received a quality grading of PSA Mint 9, which is the highest grading any card has received. Out of 435 known examples of the card, only 17 have achieved this rating.
Some fans argue that Hogan has greatly tarnished his legacy over the past decade. He has been notorious for making racist remarks, and a lot of people aren’t fans of his political views either. However, this new record simply goes to show that his popularity has not dwindled even decades after his retirement.
Hulk Hogan hints at being a part of the Donald Trump administration
It is no secret that Hulk Hogan is a huge advocate for Donald Trump. He campaigned heavily for the Republican candidate and was elated after his win. The President-elect may now be looking to pay him back by offering him a position in his administration.
During an interview with Fox News, Hogan talked about the importance of physical fitness and the downfall of health in American society. He said that Trump was even considering him for the President’s Council on Physical Fitness. The current council will last until September 30th, 2025. The former WWE Champion could potentially be taking charge once it dissolves.
Hogan said that many countries have placed bans on food items that are regularly consumed in the USA. He believed that an entire generation of kids had been poisoned by their current eating habits, and he was going to make sure that everyone became healthy.
