People from all walks of life have poured in their condolences over the loss of the wrestling industry’s first mainstream crossover wrestler—Hulk Hogan. His widow, Sky Daily, is no different. She mustered up the courage to put her feelings into words. Taking to Instagram, the 45-year-old wrote that her heart has been shattered.
She revealed that ‘The Hulkster’ was dealing with some health problems. However, the yoga instructor added that both of them were hopeful of Hogan’s recovery. She noted her husband was a legend in the books of his supporters, but to her, the deceased soul meant something way beyond that. Daily underscored that the WWE Hall of Famer would make time for his fans in various meet-and-greets despite the ailments he had.
At last, Daily asked everyone to keep him and his family in their prayers. In contrast to constant denial from The Immortal One’s camp, the larger-than-life personality wasn’t doing well in the past few months. In fact, a once-close friend of Hogan, Bubba the Love Sponge, noted several times that his condition was so critical that his family was gearing up to bid a permanent goodbye to Terry Bollea, the man behind Hulk Hogan, forever.
A representative for Hogan informed TMZ that the former NWO member had just been dealing with pretty much the same physical discomfort that he’d battled with in his life post in-ring retirement. The reasoning behind his death was linked to a cardiac arrest, after which he was rushed to a hospital but couldn’t be saved.
WWE paid tribute to Hulk Hogan on this week’s SmackDown
On Friday, WWE held its usual SmackDown taping, but the company heavily honored the immortal legacy of Hulk Hogan during the broadcast. The show opened up with a 10-bell customary salute, with numerous members of the WWE roster assembling on the stage to mourn the devastating loss.

Triple H was at the forefront of it, and he got some words in for the icon and stalwart that Hogan was to the entire business of pro wrestling. WWE had brought in some legends like “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Sgt. Slaughter, Ted DiBiase, and more to partake in its tribute to ‘The Sterling Golden’.
Later on in the show, Cody Rhodes cut a promo and mentioned that the pro wrestling world lost a giant on Thursday. He did acknowledge that the sentiments and feelings toward Hogan must have been complicated for some, but the impact he had on the business was indisputable. ‘The Hulkster’ had last appeared on WWE programming back in January.

He came out on the Netflix premiere of Raw along with Jimmy Hart. However, the Los Angeles crowd was having none of it. The jam-packed house at the Intuit Dome rained down a cascade of boos on Hogan. It was picked up by mainstream outlets at the time due to the wrestler’s proximity to POTUS Donald Trump.
Is a brand-new Hulk Hogan docuseries on the horizon?
In a fascinating revelation, Netflix has reportedly been working on a multi-part docuseries on Hulk Hogan over the past year, per Matthew Belloni of Puck. It’s being directed by Bryan Storkel in adherence with WWE. The report added that the series includes over 20 hours of Hogan’s interviews.

But with his passing, it’s unclear how it will affect the series’ production. Netflix had also come up with a docuseries on Vince McMahon last year, wherein Hogan was also cast, among other WWE legends, to share their opinions of McMahon.

Circling back to Hogan, his wrestling legacy is undeniable. But it’d have been celebrated with even more fervor had it not been for Terry Bollea’s controversial incident from 2015, indicting him as a racist. ‘Mr. America’ had since lost an incredible amount of his goodwill among the fans.
