When CM Punk returned to WWE, many fans raised concern about his attitude, given the way he left AEW months ago. However, to their pleasant surprise, he came back as a better man who has been actively enjoying his time as a veteran helping young superstars. Recently, WWE backstage producer Shane Helms, aka Hurricane, also jumped in to say a few words about Punk’s behavior.

Speaking of his in-ring journey, it has become more challenging since the Royal Rumble, where he suffered an injury courtesy of Drew McIntyre. He made an appearance on the latest episode of Raw and had an intense verbal battle with The Scottish Warrior. Nevertheless, some predict he might make a return to wrestling soon, as he claims to have recovered faster than he initially expected.

WWE legend Matt Hardy showed his excitement to witness the match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre

As much as fans enjoyed the non-physical altercation between Punk and McIntyre, they are eagerly anticipating their eventual in-ring battle. Fans aren’t the only ones excited; Matt Hardy is also awaiting the match between the two. As such, the wrestling veteran expressed his honest opinions about this feud.

While speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the 49-year-old legend stated that the feud has been intriguing. He mentioned that the rivalry between the two stars was particularly engaging because it involved a degree of genuine animosity. Hardy also added that WWE had done a great job of keeping Punk relevant and present despite the latter’s injury.

It's not having great matches on the road to this blow-off match, it is the entertainment factor between these two guys. Drew has been super entertaining, Punk has been super entertaining, and now there's a legit beef, there's something personal between these two - a rivalry.

Furthermore, he added that it had the potential to be a main event match at any PLE without a title being involved. Somewhere in his mind, it reminded him of the rivalry between him and Edge, given how personal it was.
