A huge Metropolitan Division matchup occurred between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals. The Hurricanes ended up securing a 4-2 win. After the game, they would troll their opponents through a cheeky message on social media.

Both teams arrived in this game with an 8-2-0 record. Dmitry Orlov‘s two goals and Pyotr Kechotkov‘s 19 saves helped the hosts overcome the Capitals and their red-hot captain Alex Ovechkin.

As the Presidential Election in the US gets heated, several citizens have received a campaign message. In this message, the citizens are asked for their help and urged to cast their vote.

Taking note of this and the fact that the Capitals are from Washington D.C., the Hurricanes social media team trolled the Capitals with an ‘edited‘ campaign message. In a post, the Canes showcased a message from Caps asking for help following another defeat.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Caps HQ here. We’re getting slaughtered out there. We’ve now lost seven of our last nine games against the Canes. No matter what we try, we’re giving up ground every time we play them. Will you pledge to not jump ship?

Along with this edited message, the Canes social media account would tweet out that the campaign texts have been “getting out of hand.”
