A huge Metropolitan Division matchup occurred between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals. The Hurricanes ended up securing a 4-2 win. After the game, they would troll their opponents through a cheeky message on social media.

Both teams arrived in this game with an 8-2-0 record. Dmitry Orlov‘s two goals and Pyotr Kechotkov‘s 19 saves helped the hosts overcome the Capitals and their red-hot captain Alex Ovechkin.

Taking note of this and the fact that the Capitals are from Washington D.C., the Hurricanes social media team trolled the Capitals with an ‘edited‘ campaign message. In a post, the Canes showcased a message from Caps asking for help following another defeat.

As a result of this win, the Hurricanes are now 8-2-0 and second in their division standings. As for the Capitals, they are now third in the division, one spot behind the Canes.

The Capitals will hope to bounce back from this defeat in their game against the Nashville Predators. On the other hand, the Canes would be aiming for a seventh successive win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.
