“I am a Roger fan until the end” Skiing GOAT lauds the wonder that Roger Federer is!

With a record 20-Grand Slam titles, Roger Federer is admired by the masses. However, it is not just his achievement on the court that amazes everyone. Rather, it’s also the Swiss Maestro’s down-to-earth persona that draws anyone who encounters him. 

Most recently, Lindsey Vonn has expressed her admiration for Federer. Vonn holds the all-time record of 82 World Cup victories. Further, in 2019, she became the oldest woman at 34 to have won a bronze medal in women’s downhill. Post an astounding result, the American announced her retirement from the race circuit. In an interview with blue News, she expressed her admiration for Federer. 

“He gives so much to the sport”- Vonn commends Federer 

Vonn is considered to be the greatest skier of all time, and as it happens, she is amazed by the force that Roger Federer is. 

“He wants to play tennis as long as he can. He’s so passionate about tennis–that’s why he’s been playing for so long. He gives so much to the sport. The sport is no longer the same without him,” she said, ruing the season of 2020 due to Roger’s absence. The World No.5 had to sit the year out due to a double-knee surgery. 

Further, Vonn weighed in the possibility that Rafael Nadal can eclipse Federer to attain more Grand Slam titles. 

“I was and am a Roger fan until the end. For me, Roger will always be the greatest champion of all time. He plays with so much grace, is so balanced. And he’s wonderful to the fans and people. You can hardly do better than Roger. If Nadal breaks Rogers’ record, some will say he is now the greatest. For others, Roger still stays ahead,” she concluded.
