“I am used to it, it only strengthens my shield and it gives me even bigger motivation,” Novak Djokovic confident of taking PTPA to a new level after ATP snub

Novak Djokovic asserted that he is dedicated to taking the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), to a new level after he now stands clear on his relationship with ATP. The Serbian, alongside Vasek Pospisil who co-founded the PTPA, decided to join back the ATP council, but were taken aback after the council decided to enact new membership rules.
According to the rule, one cannot be a member of any other tennis organization apart from PTPA, which leaves Djokovic and Pospisil with no other option then to stick with their brainchild, PTPA. “It is not the first time, I am used to it, it only strengthens my shield and it gives me even bigger motivation to do what is right for the sport and for the players,” said Djokovic on the new ATP rules.
This is just the beginning for PTPA: Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic was confident and believed in the future of the PTPA. According to the co-founders, Djokovic and Pospisil, the organization was formed to provide another platform for tennis players on tour, to voice their opinions and grievances. They clarified earlier, that it will not rival the ATP council on any matter. But with ATP now clearly putting forth their intentions, it remains to be seen what will be the Serbian’s next move.
“This is just the beginning for PTPA, we have to see what our next strategic move will be, obviously we will need to have a bit different approach from now on. At least we know now where we stand at when it comes to ATP,” the Serbian sounded optimistic in his quest to make the PTPA a top-level organization.
One cannot put too much criticism on the Serbian, as he has been reiterating from the start, that PTPA was formed not to divide the tennis community. He even joined back the ATP players council, when he was nominated for the same. But, ATP took up a measure which was uncalled for, setting new membership rules, disallowing any player to remain a member apart from their council.
