UFC middleweight interim title challenger Kelvin Gastelum released an official statement yesterday on April 19th regarding his loss against Robert Whittaker at UFC Vegas. Gastelum still has hope for himself and is determined to work to be the best of them all. He posted his statement on his Twitter page.

Last weekend Kelvin Gastelum went up against former middleweight champ Whittaker. The fighter was totally outclassed by his opponent in all 5 rounds. It was a dominant victory for the Kiwi. Gastelum lost each of the 5 rounds making it a complete sweep for Rob. He lost via unanimous decision 50-45.

Despite his devastating defeat, Kelvin still has hope for his future and has not given up yet. He went ahead on released a statement on Twitter that said, “Getting an onslaught of amazing messages and I’m glad ppl enjoyed the fight. Thank you all for sending even the slightest positive gesture and messages.”

Kelvin Gastelum after the defeat against Whittaker makes him 1-4 in his last five bouts. He won his last bout against Ian Heinisch which was by decision and has lost to names like Israel Adesanya and Darren Till. The fighter is still hopeful for a comeback.

“I still believe I can get the job done and be one of the best! I wouldn’t say that just to say it, I believe it with my heart. I am learning so much from my opponents and I will make the necessary adjustments for the next battle. We’re on to the next one,” wrote Kelvin in his latest statement.
