“I do not regret losing to Roger Federer”, Fognini reveals in his autobiography

Fabio Fognini, one time Grandslam doubles winner, recently launched his autobiography titled My Life Between the Lines in which he revealed his relationship with big tennis stars and also mentioned about his career and his on court outbursts.
Fabio Fognini was in full praise for Roger Federer in his new book and claimed that out of Rafael Nadal, Djokovic and Federer he regarded Federer as the best tennis player of the generation.
“Federer is a kind man and always jokes around”, Fognini on Federer
Fabio Fognini spoke about his encounters with Roger Federer in his book and claimed that he did not mind losing to Roger Federer as he was the best tennis player of his generation. Fabio Fognini wrote in his book,”Of all my defeats, his are the ones I least regret. I know that I gave everything I had every time and I lost again against the best of all.”
Fabio Fognini played 4 times against Federer losing on all occassions, yet Fognini claimed that he does not regret losing to Federer although he played his best tennis. Fognini also spoke about different Federer was on and off the court and wrote about how he jokes around and praised Federer for being a kind man. Fognini wrote in his book,“I’m always surprised by the difference between Federer’s daily life and Federer’s on the pitch. A kind man who wants to laugh and joke with everyone, Federer jokes all the time. ‘How handsome are you Fabio?’, He mocks me. ‘If only I was as beautiful as you.’
Further in his book Fognini wrote about his feud with Andy Murray, spoke about Rafael Nadal and also about his on court outbursts which got him into trouble.

Fabio Fognini mentioned about his feud with Andy Murray in his book and said that he thought that the Brit was arrogant and they never had a good relationship. Fognini wrote in his book, “Murray and I never got along. We are two hotheads and we lose our cool pretty quickly. When we are on court, we despise each other.Andy Murray was arrogant since young age. A guy all lobs and dropshots, tricky shots designed to mock you.”
Fabio Fognini and Andy Murray had a controversial spat at the Shanghai Masters in 2019 when Fabio Fognini shouted while Andy Murray was taking a volley which distracted Murray and sent him into wild rage. Murray argued with the chair umpire and asked Fognini to shut up. Fognini won the match in 3 sets.
Andy Murray and Fognini have faced each other 8 times with both winning on 4 occasions each which shows their rivalry. Fabio Fognini made a disappointing return to clay season as he lost to Ugo Humbert in the 2nd round of the Italian Open 2020. He will now focus on doing well at French Open 2020.
