“I don’t like that!” Alex Corretja infuriated with fans for booing at Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic received a very strange reception on his entry into the court for his fourth-round match. Alex Corretja, who was sitting in the commentating box at the moment displayed his shock at the reaction given by the crowd to the world No.1
On his way into the court, the world No.1 was given a mixed reaction from the fans at the Court Suzanne-Lenglen ahead of his fourth-round match against the Diego Schwartzman. The Serbian while entering the court was booed at by the crowd.
While some of the fans started cheering for Djokovic it was clear that many of them were whistling at him and booing at him. The world No.1 and the defending champion of the French Open wasn’t expecting such a cruel reception on his entrance.
Neither were Corretja and his co-commentators, who were shocked to see the Serbian being booed by the french crowd. Djokovic has experienced a fair share of criticism throughout his career but in this case it was absolutely necessary to attack a player who is going to play a very tough match.

Alex Corretja frustrated with the crowd for booing at Novak Djokovic

Alex Corretja who was present in the commentry box when Novak Djokovic was booed by the crowd expressed his frustration with the crowd on air. He said, “Yes, here we are!”. But as the crowd began booing at Djokovic, Corretja exclaimed, “Hey?!”
He continued, “I don’t like that! No, man. It is Novak Djokovic. He has shown us, given us so much. So just support both, and let’s just enjoy the match! This is pretty much what we need.”
Although Djokovic went on to win the match but while facing a tough opponent and experiencing such hostility from the crowd could drain your energy and make you lose concentration in the macth. However, Djokovic handled it nicely and will now be facing the ‘King of Clay’ Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals of the Roland Garros 2022.
