“I even like his haircut, I think his haircut looks sharp” says Roy Keane on Scott McTominay’s performance against Leeds

Manchester United tore into Leeds in a sensational match yesterday as they scored six past them. Scott McTominay broke the record of fastest time taken to score two goals in a match as he scored them within three minute. He played a stellar role in the match and even contributed with an assist as Manchester climbed up to third place in the Premier League table.
Midfield domination throughout the match
Scott McTominay is the kind of midfielder who isn’t flashy as Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba, but plays a major role. He has the responsibility of shielding a defence that is known to be leaky at times and isn’t expected to be creating chances or scoring them. However he put in a masterclass against Leeds as he gave Manchester United a two goal lead in what was a frenetic first half.
Marcelo Bielsa structures his team in a manner that would make his team fast in the counter, but expose his team at the same time. The formation leaves spaces between the lines and Manchester United took advantage of it. Bruno Fernandes exploited that and laid off a pass to McTominay in the second minute. That was when the floodgates opened as the Scottish midfielder scored from that.
He added another to his tally in the next minute and could have got his third had Fernandes given him the penalty to take. However when all was said and done, the former was singled out for praise by none other than Roy Keane. The ex-Manchester United midfielder is usually critical of the slightest mistakes, but this time around he was beaming with his praise.
“It was the perfect game for him. He kept it simple and the kid’s maturing really well. He’ll need to improve more on his stats and goals, but his role in the team has generally been to protect a back four that is dodgy” Roy Keane said. The midfielder’s performance was solid and the praise he received from Keane was completely deserved.
