“I f*cked up, I made a mistake”- Dana White finally rewards Figueiredo with “Post-fight Bonus”
Deiveson Figueiredo emerged victorious in his first title defense against Alex Perez at UFC 255, held at the UFC Apex at Las Vegas, Nevada. He gloriously won the match, landed devastating kicks early in the round, followed by a grapple to get Perez in a mean hold, finally securing a Guillotine on his opponent which forced him to tap out.
So when the $50K Post-fight bonus wasn’t awarded to him, Figueiredo, much like the rest of us, was surprised to see it go to Joaquin Buckley and Antonina Shevchenko, instead.
A $50,000 Apology
Almost a week after the event, it seems that Dana White has come to realise that he may not have made the right decision. He is seen in a video taken by Figueiredo‘s manager, Wallid Ismael, giving a big bag of cash to the flyweight champion while saying “I f*cked up, I made a mistake.”
It isn’t clear if this is a post-fight bonus or compensation for White‘s mistake, but it’s nice to see the UFC head honcho taking care of his Champs.
