At UFC 268, Kamaru Usman defeated Colby Covington over the course of two rounds to win his sixth consecutive championship defence. The welterweight champion reinforced his status as one of the world’s top 170-pound fighters in a rematch that took place in 2019. Usman still had the right to refer to himself as the welterweight GOAT before to his rematch with Covington.

Rarely does a UFC weight class champion engage in more activity than the rivals contending for the title he has. But Usman appears to be the exception to that rule. Kamaru fought three times in 2021, adding three more rubies to his gold strap.
