Novak Djokovic suffered a disappointing end to his 2020 campaign, as he was defeated by the Austrian, Dominic Thiem in an incredible semifinal clash of the Nitto ATP Finals 2020. The duo battled it out for 3 gruesome sets, with both players delivering tennis of the highest quality. But it was to be Thiem’s day who pulled off a miraculous comeback in the 3rd set tiebreaker, which he won, overcoming a 4-0 deficit.
Novak Djokovic was in full praise of the Austrian, and even congratulated him on his victory. He applauded Thiem for his ourage, inspite of trailing 4-0 in the tiebreaker. The Serbian also took to social media to post a congratulatory message for Dominic Thiem.

Novak Djokovic said that he did not play poorly in the 3rd set tiebreaker, but attributed his loss to Thiem’s extraordinary comeback and perfect gameplay. The Serbian also said that the match was equally contested right from the start till finish. The semifinal clash between the two will go down as one of the most memorable matches played at the O2 Arena in London.
It was a very even match from start to finish. We both served the third set well, it was fair to decide that break. It’s unreal what he did 0-4 in that break.
