Dustin Poirier put on a clinic against Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 257, as he became the first ever man to knockout Conor McGregor in his professional MMA career. The Irishman went into the fight as the clear favourite, but, much to the surprise of many his American opponent, used his superior boxing skills and pummeled Conor McGregor in only the second round. The win saw, the number 2 ranked Dustin stake his claim for the lightweight title, next.

In the wake of this, number 4 ranked lightweight contender Charles Oliveira, congratulated Dustin Poirier on his victory and expressed his desire to see him inside the octagon soon, since Dustin had earlier expressed his desire, in the post-fight conference to fight Oliveira , rather than fighting newcomer Michael Chandler.

Oliviera is coming off a stunning victory over Tony Ferguson. ‘Da Bronx’ thoroughly dominated Tony Ferguson, throughout the three rounds and ‘El Cucuy’ looked completely out of sorts, as he was completely ragdolled on the ground. At one point Oliveira even broke Tony Ferguson’s arm. Oliveira is currently on a eight match win streak, and will definitely prove to be a valiant opponent against Dustin, who has become really strong after unbelievable victories over Dan Hooker and Conor McGregor.
