“I’m over it” Victor Oladipo on getting past off season rumors
“That’s not my reputation to be a guy like that. It was kind of surprising that they would even put that out without facts. And, you know, it’s OK. I guess that is a part of life, it is a part of this business, things like that happen.”
“But at the end of the day, I know myself. And at the end of the day, I can’t control what they write or what they say, but I know who I am as a person. And I know I would never do any of the things they said,” Oladipo said.
“My teammates know that as well, and you can ask anyone and they will tell you. Even people around the league, they know what kind of person I am. For them to put that out, it was unfortunate.”
“At first, you know, you kind of get upset,” he said. “Because you’re like ‘Wow, they’re trying to tarnish my name, and I didn’t even do anything to them’. But at the end of the day, you learn not to even put your energy towards nonsense, and you focus on things that really matter.”
Oladipo concluded by saying that his primary focus is on the upcoming NBA season and helping the Pacers achieve success. “It is unfortunate, you know, that it kind of happened like that, but I’m over it. I’m focused on my knee and playing the game I love and helping the Pacers win a championship. All that other stuff really is irrelevant.”
