“I love Marvel and the Iron Man” – Serena Williams expresses wish to meet actor Robert Downey Jr

American tennis ace Serena Williams expressed her wish to meet Hollywood superstar Robert Downey Jr in a question-answer session after her win in the second round of the Australian Open 2021 over Nina Stojanovic. The 39-year-old lost just three games in the match as she cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win.

She will next face Anastasia Potapova in the third round where she will once again be the huge favorite to win and move to the fourth round. Serena is bidding to win her record 24th Grand Slam title this year – a win that would put her alongside Margaret Court as the highest Grand Slams winner across both the men’s and women’s fields.

At an interaction with the media after her win in the second round, Serena Williams was asked about who one person she hasn’t met yet and would love to meet. The American was quick in her answer as she said, “I haven’t met Robert Downey Jr. And I love Marvel and the ‘Iron Man’.”

Robert Downey Jr is a superstar in Hollywood and portrays the Marvel comic book character Iron Man in movies which come under the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was last seen playing the character in the movie, Avengers: Endgame following which it remains unlikely that he would portray the character in future movies.
