‘I pulled off one of his favourite moves’ – Anthony Joshua reveals he executed one of Floyd Mayweather’s signature moves during his knockout victory over Kubrat Pulev
Anthony Joshua has revealed that he used one of Floyd Mayweather’s signature moves during his recent match against Kubrat Pulev, on the 12th of December, 2020 at SSE Arena in London. Anthony Joshua knocked out Kubrat Pulev in the 9th round of their bout, as he successfully defended his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.
One among the limited attendees who were allowed in the stadium was retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather, who then said of Joshua, “I’m proud of Joshua. He is one of the best heavyweights out there. He won [an Olympic] gold medal, his career is going great, a two-time heavyweight champion. He is a hell of a fighter. He is a gentleman and I enjoy his craft.” (via SkySports)

Anthony Joshua can be seen saying in a video posted in his own YouTube channel, titled – Growing Into My Greatness , “It was the first time we were allowed fans back and Mayweather was in the stadium. It was an honour to have him in the house. I respect him highly for what he has achieved. He came to see me perform and I pulled off one of his favourite moves – the pull-counter. If you watch boxing you will know that is one of Mayweather’s signature moves.” (via SkySports)
Anthony Joshua’s victory against Kubrat Pulev means, a high-voltage clash against undefeated Brit, Tyson Fury awaits. The bout will be a title unification bout for the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Floyd Mayweather, on the other hand, is scheduled to face YouTube star Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match. The fight which was initially scheduled to take place on the 20th of February was postponed recently.
