UFC top commentator, Joe Rogan always speaks his mind. The commentator/MMA connoisseur advocates a lightweight title fight between Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira. With the lightweight title up for grabs after Khabib Nurmagomedov retired, normally, viewers throw names out for the shot.

Joe Rogan on his podcast was talking about all possible contenders for the lightweight title and highly campaigns for Dustin and Charles. Eventually, it is only right that someone becomes the successor to Khabib Nurmagomedov as the Dagestani hasn’t shown signs of returning. On the Joe Rogan Podcast accompanying Joe was middleweight contender, Kevin Holland.

Joe said, “That would have been an interesting fight to see: [Oliveira] vs Khabib,”  on the podcast. “The way Oliveira controlled [Tony Ferguson] on the ground—we wanted to know what would happen [if Ferguson fought Nurmagomedov] because Tony is dangerous off his back… I’m more interested to see Oliveira fight for the title than anybody in that division.

Joe Rogan continued as he expressed his views on Dustin-Charles’ fight for the UFC Lightweight title and Oliveira’s career. “Man, I want to see him fight for the title,” Rogan concluded. “I wanna see him fight Dustin.”

“He’s just so technical, everything’s so good,” says Joe Rogan as he praised Charles Oliveira

“Do Bronx” last fought in the octagon last December against Tony Ferguson. Oliveira won the fight by decision in the third round at UFC 256. It is still not official who the fighter is going to be fighting. Joe Rogan also believes Charles Oliveira has the skills required to fight at the highest level. “I believe [Nurmagomedov] is the GOAT of that division, but I don’t know what would have happened with Oliveira until you see it,” Rogan continued.

“With Oliveira, there are moments—like when Cub Swanson knocked him out—there are moments when you go back in his career and you go, ‘this guy is not the greatest.’ Then you see him in some fights like the Kevin Lee fight, and he’s just so technical, everything’s so good. He’s never out of position. He doesn’t force anything.

Do you agree with Joe Rogan that Charles should be fighting Dustin next?
