Ever though why Dwight Howard would leave a team like Los Angeles Lakers, who is already a champion contender for the any season. The player makes shocking revelations as to why he left to Lakers and went to Philadelphia 76ers. One could surely suggest that the Lakers got an upgrade by signing Montrezl Harrell in place of Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol is a cherry on top of it. But it all depends upon how the defending champions use them in the upcoming season.

With Harrell and Gasol, the added benefit Lakers get is, their 3-point shooting and offensive approach with their defensive ability. On the other hand, 76ers went into this offseason, looking to build their team around Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

“When Doc Rivers called, I was super excited” Dwight Howard on leaving the Lakers

“I was never offered a deal from the Lakers. Once Philly called, and I talked to Doc, and he already told me he wanted me on the team, I was super excited. Philly is a team that I’ve been watching and competing against for a couple of years. I’ve always thought they had the talent to be the best team in the NBA.”

The former Orlando Magic center has got a taste of sweet victory in LA, and his motivation is to have that again. He said, “I was happy that I had a chance to go back to LA to fulfill the promise that we made of winning a championship. But I’m even more excited to come to Philly and help this team get over the top.”

The former Orlando Magic center is looking to be a leader in this team. On the players he wants to help develop in the team, he said, “Looking at a guy like Joel (Embiid) who is blossoming into a real superstar and also Ben Simmons, and just having that opportunity to kind of be able to talk to both of those guys and be a great example for them.”
