Hardly 10 days, before Conor McGregor makes his much anticipated return against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. Conor is coming off a victory against Donald Cerrone, at UFC 246, after which the Irishman announced that he was retiring. The fight will go ahead as a lightweight bout.

In the wake of this UFC President Dana White, speaking to Brett Okamoto of ESPN, urged Conor McGregor to focus on the UFC alone, after his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. The Irishman has hinted at a possibility of boxing bout against boxing great Manny Pacquiao, ever since mid 2020.

Dana White was quoted as saying, “I would love to see him focus on what he could do in the UFC. Whether it is taking another shot at the title against Khabib or fight for the title against somebody else if Khabib retires and then defend that title.

Asking Conor to remain focused, White said, “A boxing match with any of these guys, that sort of stuff is always going to be there. You are the absolute best in the world right now at MMA.”

Conor McGregor is one of the very few combat athletes, who have taken the ‘cross-sport fight’ plunge. He made his boxing debut, back in 2017, against Floyd Mayweather. Though, ‘The Notorious’ put on an impressive performance, he was no match for the American’s greatness. But, given that Conor is in his physical prime, it will do him and the MMA community, a world of good, if he continues to stick around in the UFC.
