‘I wouldn’t mind seeing Luke and Anthony’ – Daniel Cormier; Luke Rockhold vs Anthony Smith in the making?
According to Daniel Cormier, we might see Luke Rockhold making his UFC comeback against Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith.
Luke Rockhold was once soaring in his career, but ever since losing to Mike Bisping he has been a mere shadow of himself. He came back stronger against David Branch, but then back-to-back losses against Yoel Romero and Jan Blachowicz pegged him back once again. And, since fighting against Jan Blachowicz, way back in July 2019, Rockhold hasn’t stepped into the octagon.
Speaking about this in DC & Helwani MMA show, Daniel Cormier revealed that Luke Rockhold coming back against Anthony Smith at 185 pounds would be a cracker of a contest.
“I think it is a good one” – Daniel Cormier on Rockhold vs Anthony Smith
Daniel Cormier was quoted as saying, “I think Luke coming back and fighting Anthony Smith, I think they (Rockhold & Smith) had some bad blood. I wouldn’t mind seeing Luke and Anthony. If Luke came back, but honestly, I’d prefer Luke back at 185 (Middleweight). That’s just where he is more natural. And guess what, the Jan Blachowicz loss in hindsight doesn’t look all that bad anymore. Everybody talking about Oh! Luke Rockhold’s done knocked out by Jan Blachowicz and Yoel Romero. Like who doesn’t? Jan Blachowicz ,that loss now does not look bad as it did in that moment. I’d like to see him come back, but I’d like to see him fight at 185. I love the fight. I think the bad blood sells itself. And for a guy like Luke right now, who’s lost a couple times…..Yeah I think it is a good one.”
Agree with Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier?
