Ever since the Tom BradyMatthew Stafford recruitment news hit the notifications bars of football fans, another argument has broken out. Ian Rapoport, NFL Media’s primary insider, refuted FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz‘s original story with proof.

In the immediate aftermath, it was reported that Schultz confronted Rapoport at a Starbucks at the JW Marriott hotel in Indianapolis. Since then, Starbucks has become a meme considering Schultz’s father was the CEO, which apparently made it look like he suddenly had power to confront and send curse words towards him in front of people.

Schultz has tried to calm the situation down, but the damage has already been done. Now others are having a field day mocking the FOX Sports Insider. Pat McAfee and his crew had Ian Rapoport on his show earlier at the NFL Combine.

Along with him was veteran Rich Eisen. They all got a laugh out of it as the NFL Media insider made it clear he was not shaking hands with Schultz. This theme carried over to the NBA when TNT’s Inside the NBA started ahead of Thursday’s games.

Hall of Famer Charles Barkley trolled the situation and suggested that he was going to be on Ian Rapoport’s side in the event he needs backup. On the other hand, his colleague and fellow Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal chose to be on Schultz’s side. He knows the FOX Sports employee and his father from before.

The discourse between the two insiders aside, Matthew Stafford, becoming a viable option for Tom Brady’s Las Vegas Raiders, has been picking up steam. The noise surrounding the NFL combine is that the franchise can look at trading for the veteran Super Bowl champion.

That will solve their need for a solid quarterback immediately. However, when the news of their meeting at a ski resort in Montana broke, many wondered if this was tampering. Las Vegas based journalist Vincent Bonsignore is at the combine and revealed this.

From NFL on potential tampering violations of Tom Brady recently meeting with Rams QB Matthew Stafford: ‘There’s no issue here. The Rams gave the player and his agent permission to speak to the Raiders’.

Vincent Bonsignore wrote

This confirms that the Los Angeles Rams have effectively given permission to their QB to speak with prospective suitors. That is almost a confirmation that the 37-year-old might not wear a Rams jersey next season.

If the Raiders do manage to land the veteran QB without handing over high draft picks, Tom Brady and his franchise might have pulled off a brilliant deal. However, the Rams know they can get a good return as they look to move on from Matthew Stafford.
