His release clause will be paid by Bayern Munich when the summer transfer window opens and then they will turn to other targets. The centre-back rejected moves to Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United and was fixated on joining Bayern Munich since the club satisfied his immediate demands. The French centre-back will most likely be present in the Euro 2021 tournament for France in the summer and a move will have to be made then by clubs. He has a release clause that is estimated to be around £36 million, which is lesser than his compatriot’s release clause. It remains to be seen which club will be the first to make a move and to whom will Konate sign.
