LeBron James has been at odds with Stephen A. Smith for the past couple of weeks, engaging in a messy back-and-forth. In a new video that has surfaced online, the latter has made some impudent claims towards the NBA star. With sensitive issues touched, the internet, including Ice Cube‘s son O’Shea Jackson Jr., condemned the sportscaster.

Stephen A. Smith has left no stone unturned in pulling LeBron James down with criticism for a long time coming. Sports commentary aside, the ESPN personality has now resorted to desperate measures if his newest take is to be any evidence.

In a recent video, Smith responded to James’s comments on his unfair analysis of him by mentioning all the confidential information he had not brought up. One of those was his rude absence from Dwyane Wade‘s Hall of Fame ceremony, despite being the best of friends.

While it was not an incorrect fact, O’Shea Jackson Jr. spoke for James in bringing some relevant information. In a post on X, he pointed out that Wade’s celebration fell days after James’ son, Bronny James, underwent heart surgery.

Not to mention Dwyane wade ceremony was two weeks after Bronny got out the hospital from fuckin heart surgery. Smfh.

O’Shea Jackson wrote

Bronny James’ fall on the court in his USC days had triggered a heart attack, concerning the James family. After finding a heart defect treatable through surgery, LeBron James chose to stay beside his family amid the challenging times. While the two shared a deep relationship, he had a perfectly acceptable reason to make the decisions.

Ever since LeBron James’s confrontation with Stephen A. Smith, the sports journalist has been milking money out of his bold opinions on the NBA MVP. While the former has refrained from giving the latter content, he has not fully committed to leaving it alone. After an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show where he brought out his side of the story, he also took digs at Smith on social media.

Ice Cube’s son provides evidence against Stephen A. Smith’s ill-researched claims backed by Dave Portnoy

Stephen A Smith’s accusations did not end with James missing out on Wade’s celebration in the NBA. Furthermore, in the episode, he alleged that LeBron James missed out on the legend Kobe Bryant‘s memorial service.

While there were no pictures of his turnout, it was reportedly because he asked not to be pictured. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy jumped in to offer his insights, second to Smith’s claims. Per the self-proclaimed historian and his expansive knowledge of the basketballer, the idea of James’ asking for privacy at a time like that was absurd.

With the intensity of the accusations, Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. once again defended LeBron James. In a reply to Portnoy’s tweet, he added several shreds of evidence. One of them was a blurry picture, seemingly a drone shot angle with an edited arrow pointing to the NBA MVP standing among the crowd. Another was a video from the service, ‘Celebration of Life’ held for Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.

The clip features Diana Taurasi mentioning LeBron James, while looking in his direction. Soon after, the NBA community joined in to rebuke Smith for bringing Kobe Bryant without proper research. The outcry led the sports broadcaster to backtrack on his statement. After apologising, he retracted, adding that the apology was solely for that comment.
