3×3 Team USA eliminated from Paris Olympics
The US 3×3 Men’s basketball team were sent packing from the 2024 Olympics, after the Netherlands dealt a devastating blow to any hopes they had for gold medals. The defeat yesterday means Team USA have crashed out from this year’s edition, after they previously failed to qualify for the Tokyo Games.
The 3×3 team finished 2-5 in pool play while playing its last five games without star Jimmer Fredette, whose absence due to injury was definitely felt in the game and meant the team had to switch their play tactics.
The USA entered the Paris Olympics as the No. 2 seed, with Fredette as their key attacking outlet. However, after getting injured in their second game, the 3×3 team have been eliminated with a 21-6 thrashing by the Netherlands.
