Rishabh Pant has hogged the limelight ever since his iconic performance in Brisbane that aided Team India to win the series 2-1. However, deep down, Pant has regrets for being dismissed in Sydney’s Test match, which then concluded in a draw.
Pant, who played a fiery knock and returned 89 not out, changed the complexion of the match and clinched Indian a historic win at the Gabba. A similar defining innings came from Pant’s willow in Sydney’s Test as well where he smashed 97 runs of just 118 balls.

In an exclusive interview with Sports Today, Rishabh Pant sounded slightly guilty for the fact that Sydney’s Test concluded in a draw that could have been won.
“It was a setup from the last game. I missed on a hundred but I realised one more thing. If I could have played half an hour or one hour more, we could have won the match, that was a possibility. You don’t get big opportunities everyday, but getting a big opportunity in the very next match?! It’s important to capitalise on that. I focussed on that,” Pant told India Today’s Consulting Editor (Sports) Boria Majumdar.
