Iga Swiatek loves tiramisu, an Italian dessert made with coffee and ladyfingers. She in fact was honored by a popular restaurant in Rome, Ristorante La Vittoria ahead of her Italian Open campaign.
It’s the restaurant where Swiatek always goes whenever she lifts the second clay-court WTA 1000 of the season. La Vittoria heaped praise on the Pole for popularizing the dessert and also named their tiramisu, ‘Iga Swiatek’s Tiramisu’.
Swiatek, however, is trying to avoid eating tiramisu during her Italian Open campaign. After breezing past Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the second round, the Pole joked that she wants to gobble up the dessert following the tournament.
I am a little bit (holding off). But after the tournament, I’ll eat more. Maybe today, after the win. But yeah, I need to keep it easy right? I mean I’m eating a lot of pasta anyway so I can’t do too much with the carbs.

Last year, when Swiatek lifted the trophy by breezing past World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, she joked during the trophy presentation that she wanted the organizers to put a tiramisu inside the trophy whenever she lifts the title in the future. Swiatek also checked the French Open trophy for tiramisu after winning the title last year.
Iga Swiatek revealed what she did after her Madrid Open exit
The manner of Iga Swiatek‘s Madrid Open exit was shocking. Her title defense was ended by Coco Gauff who handed her a double-breadstick in the quarterfinals. After her opening-round win, Swiatek shared what she did immediately following her Madrid Open exit to reset.

The first two days I had off. I loved it, because I needed that, especially after not having a lot of time to reset after Stuttgart. Honestly, after I lost, I immediately went to rest mode and I was really chilled. Then we came here and got two really solid days of practice. Another day off and just a last practice yesterday to work on the stuff, before the match.

Swiatek is chasing her first title of the season. Since winning her fourth French Open title last year, the World No.1 failed to reach any final. This year, however, she has progressed to every quarterfinal.
In Rome, Swiatek is bidding to win her fourth title and defend her crown. She became a champion in the Italian capital for the first time in 2021 and defended the title the following season. In 2023, she gave a walkover to eventual winner Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals.
Iga Swiatek to lock horns with Danielle Collins at the Italian Open
Iga Swiatek has set up a third-round clash with Danielle Collins at the Italian Open. She will be meeting the American for the ninth time in her career. Prior to setting up the clash with Swiatek, Collins went past Elena-Gabriela Ruse.

In their eight matches, Swiatek holds a 7-1 lead in the head-to-head encounter. The upcoming match will be their first clash since last year’s Paris Olympics, where the 31-year-old gave a walkover to the five-time Grand Slam champion in the third set. Collins registered her lone victory over Swiatek at the 2021 Adelaide International.
If the 23-year-old reaches the quarterfinals, she could set up a clash with reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys. In the semifinals, she is projected to meet Jasmine Paolini, Jessica Pegula, or even Jelena Ostapenko, who was the reason behind her Stuttgart Open exit.
Ostapenko had defeated Swiatek in the quarterfinals to improve her head-to-head record to 6-0. If Swiatek progresses to the final, she could meet Aryna Sabalenka for the second time in the Italian Open final. Swiatek holds an 8-4 head-to-head over the three-time Grand Slam singles champion.
