Iga Swiatek fangirled over Celine Dion after her dazzling performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Yesterday (July 27th), the games held their opening ceremony. It was a magnificent night involving over 10K athletes worldwide.

One of the star moments of this ceremony was the performance of skilled Canadian vocalist Celine Dion. The Canadian is known for her music and is often referred to as the ‘Queen of Power Ballards’. Once again, she got the whole of Paris vibing to her at the opening ceremony.

One of them was WTA No.1 Iga Swiatek, who was all praise for the 56-year-old singer. Although, a day late, Swiatek did not forget to note down her praise on X. After her first-round victory, the Pole expressed her love for the performance and the singer.

Just watched the opening ceremony (I know, I'm always late with these things). Hopefully I'll stop crying before the next match. The Flame, last moments...I just can't. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. You have no idea how much you inspire Celine Dion.

It was a comeback performance for Dion, who returned to the stage for the first time after revealing a serious health condition. She was diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome, which is a condition where a person has muscle stiffness and painful spasms. Despite this, she made a powerful return after four years to give Paris a memorable opening ceremony.

Iga Swiatek starts the Olympic campaign with a great first-round match

The first-round matches at the Paris Olympics were underway. Despite the rain playing spoils as it did for some parts of Roland Garros, some matches were held under closed roofs. French Open winner Iga Swiatek was back in action on clay.

The Pole was up against Irina-Camela Begu. It seemed like a straightforward victory for Swiatek, who had to endure some damage before sealing the deal. The Romanian put up a fight after losing the first set pretty easily and managed to push Swiatek in the second set before the WTA No.1 finished the match 6-2, 7-5.

It was a 1 hour and 45-minute match for the Pole, who was a little shaky throughout the match. She hit more unforced errors than winners(30 to 22) but cleaned up her game towards the end.
