Polish tennis ace Iga Swiatek is the top-ranked player. The 22-year-old has dominated the WTA circuit like no one else. However, despite being a top seed in nearly every tournament, there are always talks about a lack of consistency from the WTA star. Aiming at such critics, Swiatek cited her and Aryna Sabalenka‘s examples.

She explained how the two players have managed to dominate the tour. Swiatek talked about her back-to-back title-winning performance at the Porsche Grand Prix. The 22-year-old highlighted how she has been able to dominate and so has Aryna Sabalenka.

Well, the question is if I already did that for past two years, because I feel like I have been pretty dominant, and also Aryna has been, so we both kind of have shown that there is consistency on WTA. I remember when I was playing in 2020, 2021, I also got many questions about consistency, and I felt like some players, you know, have proven that it's possible. So I already feel like I have been pretty dominant.

Iga Swiatek on her way to clinching third title in Stuttgart

Swiatek reached the semifinals as she beat Emma Raducanu in the quarterfinal on Friday. She beat the 2021 US Open champion in straight sets of 7-6 (2), 6-3 to set up a clash with Elena Rybakina. Swiatek will back her to ease past the Kazakh tennis star despite their head-to-head record.

As Rybakina leads Swiatek 3-2, it might look like a sign of worry. However, Swiatek has been flawless on the clay court so far. She has not dropped a set yet and her record in this tournament is expected to work in her favor. Also, she will draw inspiration from her win over Rybakina in the Qatar Open final.

If Swiatek manages to beat the Kazakh in the semifinal, Swiatek will have a relatively task cut in the final as one of Marta Kostyuk and Marketa Vondrousova will be her opponent. The two players are yet to register a win against the World No. 1.
