World No.1 Iga Swiatek is fully committed to improving her grass court fortunes with a positive performance at Wimbledon. The Polish superstar enters the SW19 event after winning her fourth Roland Garros crown earlier this month.

Swiatek has won five Grand Slam titles in total. Apart from her four French Open titles, she also clinched the US Open in 2022. However, speaking at her pre-tournament Wimbledon press conference, she expressed her determination to achieve success on grass.

I really need to focus on the process of becoming a better player here, learning to play the best type of grass tennis, not focusing on the ranking or the expectations that come with the ranking. That's what I'm going to do. I realized what Wimbledon meant when I played as a junior. It was difficult for me to understand it through television.

Swiatek’s previous grass court performances are highlighted by her best result at Wimbledon, reaching the quarter-finals last year. The 23-year-old lost a three-set match to Elina Svitolina.

Iga Swiatek is in golden form going into Wimbledon

Iga Swiatek has had great success in recent years, but she’s still unproven on grass courts. With top rivals dealing with injuries, she has a good chance to win her first Wimbledon title. Despite her impressive achievements, she hasn’t won on grass yet.

After winning her fourth French Open, Swiatek is in top form, heading into Wimbledon with a 19-match winning streak. She skipped warm-up tournaments to stay fresh, hoping to make it past the quarterfinals for the first time and show her versatility.

Several top competitors, including Marketa Vondrousova and Aryna Sabalenka, are struggling with injuries or illness. This could work in Swiatek’s favor, although Coco Gauff remains a strong contender with no recent health issues.

Other players like Ons Jabeur, Elena Rybakina, and Jessica Pegula are also aiming for success. Additionally, former champions Angelique Kerber, Naomi Osaka, and Caroline Wozniacki are making comebacks. British hopes may rest on Katie Boulter, who recently defended her Nottingham title.
