Wimbledon has been the major spotlight for the tennis world since the French Open ended. As players and team head to London for the tournament, Iga Swiatek met American actor and comedian Steve Carell, who stopped by to promote his cinema-only release animated comedy movie Despicable Me 4.
In the Mega Minions movie, the main character Gru is voiced by Steve Carell. He has been one of the biggest actors championing the film since its first release Despicable Me in 2010. The film has racked up a $3.7 billion franchise with each sequel released in two to three-year intervals, ensuring the series remains popular among households.

It has also released several themed books, and video games to keep its audience attracted to the story. Despicable Me 4 was the most highly anticipated film before its release in Cinemas on June 28. The movie centers on Gru (played by Carell) who welcomes a new member into the family but Gru Jr. doesn’t like it, so the peaceful existence at home comes crashing down.
Steve Carell is in Wimbledon to promote the film as Universal looks to earn more money when the tournament kick starts on July 1. He met with World No.1 Swiatek and Eurosport commentator Laura Robson at the All England Club. Wimbledon posted about his visit on X (formerly known as Twitter), with Swiatek reacting to it.

On the sports side of things, Swiatek will be hoping to win her maiden Wimbledon championship after having a great run of form during the clay season. The Polish star was among the early birds following her withdrawal from the Berlin Ladies Open.
Iga Swiatek’s grass record a major problem despite a great clay season
The Polish star, Iga Swiatek, dominated the clay season by winning the two major titles in Madrid and Rome and capping it off with a French Open victory. The World No.1 boasts an impressive 124-17 record on clay, including 35-7 at Roland Garros. Despite her clay court success, Swiatek’s grass record is worrisome, casting doubt as she arrives at Wimbledon following her strong clay season.

But her record on grass has been poor with 16 wins and 7 losses. She reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon last year but lost to Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina. She will be hoping to get past her last year’s record, but her first test will be against former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin on Monday.
For sure it's a huge challenge. If I would lose here earlier, maybe I would be able to play two more weeks on grass and then be a better grass-court player.Iga Swiatek said via Tennis Channel
Swiatek will likely face No.13 seed Jelena Ostapenko, who owns a 4-0 record against her, in the fourth round. She may likely play Wimbledon defending champion Marketa Vondrousova in the quarterfinals.
