- Iga Swiatek plans to post a reading challenge on Instagram but is keeping the current book a secret.
- She enjoys various genres, naming favorites like 'The Hunger Games,' the 'Millennium' series, and works by Jane Austen.
- Swiatek recently parted ways with coach Wim Fissette after an early exit at the Miami Open and may train at the Rafa Nadal Academy.
Iga Swiatek is such a bookworm that she starts to overthink something is wrong with her if a month goes by without reading. Swiatek, in a recent interview, talked about books, among other serious topics such as the role her psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, plays in her team.
Swiatek answered various questions about books, but chose not to reveal what she’s currently reading because she’s planning to “post a reading challenge” about that book on Instagram and would rather keep it a secret. When asked where her passion for books came from, she said her parents always encouraged her to read when she was a child.
For Swiatek, reading is a great way to unwind and “turn off my head”. When asked about her favorite books, the 24-year-old said:
I can’t choose just one. When it comes to fantasy, when I was younger, I loved ‘The Hunger Games.’ When it comes to crime novels, I love the ‘Millennium’ series and Camilla Lackberg’s books. When it comes to historical novels, I love mainly Ken Follett. I really like Jane Austen. Besides, at different times in life, you need different things—sometimes something lighter, sometimes more serious.

Swiatek was last seen in action at the Miami Open, where, to her utter disappointment, she suffered an opening-round exit, losing to countrywoman Magda Linette in three sets. She, in fact, has yet to reach a semifinal this season.
Iga Swiatek reveals if Rafael Nadal helped her find her new coach
During that aforementioned interview with Sport.pl, Iga Swiatek was asked about her coaching situation. After her shock Miami Open exit, she parted ways with coach Wim Fissette.

There were rumors that Swiatek would be heading to Mallorca to train at the Rafa Nadal Academy. Swiatek remained tight-lipped when asked if the rumors of Rafael Nadal finding her a coach are true.
You know, Rafa is my idol and basically the only person I watched play tennis as a child. He was also kind enough to talk to me several times during his career and give me tips. He’s the person I can turn to if I need help or have a problem. Having someone so experienced—the best, the GOAT, in fact—is obviously a fantastic opportunity, and I’ll take advantage of it if I can. Rafa is very open. He’s a great guy. Just having his number and being able to contact him is a huge honor.
As per French outlet L’Equipe, Swiatek would be training at the Rafa Nadal Academy under coach Francisco Roig, who, after Emma Raducanu‘s Australian Open exit, left her team. Roig worked with the 14-time French Open champion from 2005 to 2022.
Swiatek will next be seen in action at the WTA 500 Stuttgart Open, where last year, eventual champion Jelena Ostapenko knocked her out in the quarterfinals. She is a two-time champion in Stuttgart, winning back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023 by defeating Aryna Sabalenka both times. This year’s Stuttgart Open is scheduled to start on April 13.
The last time Swiatek won a title on this surface was at the 2025 Roland Garros, by defeating Jasmine Paolini, also completing a three-peat. But last year, eventual runner-up Sabalenka dashed her four-peat dream with a three-set win in the semifinals.
Swiatek, in fact, failed to reach a final until the grass swing last year. After losing her career’s first grass-court final at the Bad Homburg Open, she double-bageled Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon final and continued her winning ways at the Cincinnati Open (beat Paolini) before snatching the Korea Open from Ekaterina Alexandrova to fulfill a family dream.
