Polish tennis ace Iga Swiatek was over the moon after winning her fourth French Open title on Saturday. As she beat Jasmine Paolini in the 2024 Roland Garros final to lift her third straight title in Paris, the 23-year-old could not stop gushing. The butterflies in her stomach came out in the form of a hilarious sticker she shared in response to Rennae Stubbs‘ comment about her dominance in the tournament.

As Stubbs had backed Swiatek to go all the way after her win over Naomi Osaka in the second round, the Pole could not stop giggling after proving Stubbs’ prediction right. Swiatek shared a hilarious sticker expressing her happiness at the backing she received from Stubbs.

It is worth mentioning that Swiatek was pushed to her limits by Osaka in her second-round match at the Grand Slam tournament. However, the 23-year-old showed the nerves of steel to fight back and eventually win the match. This earned Swiatek heaps of praise but Stubbs went out of the way to predict sheer dominance from the Pole in the next matches.

Swiatek proved the former Australian tennis star right as she went on to win the title without dropping a set after her win over Osaka. In fact, Swiatek lost only 17 games (excluding the first and second-round matches) on her way to the title win.

Iga Swiatek feels this title was something else

Iga Swiatek did not win her first title at the Roland Garros when she beat Jasmine Paolini on Saturday. She had already three titles to her credit before she started her campaign in Paris this year. However, the Polish ace feels “this was something else”.

After her win on Saturday, Swiatek took to social media to express her happiness at the win. She said that it was a challenging two weeks for her and thanked her team for helping her stay content despite all the pressure.

It doesnโ€™t get more challenging than this. To stay disciplined for so many weeks, to focus on the right things, be here and now. But at the same time to enjoy life, to be happy, content. Iโ€™m so proud and grateful for my team, family, all the support - you have no idea. But yeahโ€ฆI want to say it out loud. This.was.something.else.
Iga Swiatek wrote on X after her win.

Indeed, this win was something else because it was the Pole’s third consecutive title win. With this, she became the first player to win three back-to-back titles in Paris since Justine Henin’s 2005-07 win. Also, she is now among the rare names to have won four French Open titles. Swiatek scripted history with this win.
