Iga Swiatek is in Australia for the 2025 season and recently participated in the United Cup, helping Team Poland reach the final for the second time on the trot. But in the final, she and compatriot Hubert Hurkacz failed to guide the team to success after defeat to Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz respectively.
Swiatek, since turning pro in 2016, has been adding important titles to her trophy cabinet. She won her first Grand Slam title at the 2020 French Open and lifted four more Majors.
Swiatek, who is now dominating on the tour, played her first tournament on the WTA Tour in 2019, at the ASB Classic, and failed to qualify for the main draw. Because of her disappointing experience, the five-time Grand Slam champion wanted to go back to playing ITFs.
Following a disappointing campaign at the 2019 ASB Classic, Swiatek made her debut in the main draw of the 2019 Australian Open and reached the second round. The transition to the WTA Tour was difficult for the Pole but she felt comfortable after a few months. On the ITF circuit, Swiatek won the seven finals she reached.
Iga Swiatek cried after signing her first sponsorship deal
