Dominant Iga Swiatek continued her brilliant run on clay court tournaments. After winning two straight Masters tournaments, she entered the French Open high on confidence and momentum. As expected, the Pole got off to a flying start at the Grand Slam.

Recently, she went one step forward and won a match with a double bagel. Swiatek was up against Anastasia Potapova in the fourth round of the French Open and won it without any difficulties. In almost 40 minutes, the match was over, and Swiatek had booked her spot in the second week of the Grand Slam.

She won 6-0, 6-0 and only lost 10 points in the whole match. In the post-match interview, she revealed that she was very confident with the win.

I was just really focused and really in the zone. It went pretty quickly… pretty weird.

A very quick fourth-round match for the Pole, as she advanced one step closer to the finals, and will try her best to defend her title. She will play the Wimbledon defending champion Marketa Vondrousova in the quarterfinals.

Reporter Mats Wilander tested Iga Swiatek on her wind sense, not knowing that she had a sailor on her team

Iga Swiatek had cruised past her fourth-round opponent in great fashion to secure a quick victory. In straight bagel sets, she had won her match and had enough time to spend on her post-match interview.

As a part of the interview, the Pole was tested on her wind-telling skills. Reporter Mats Wilander had put Swiatek on the spot by making her close her eyes and tell the direction of movement of the wind. After which, he asked about the flag’s direction and Swiatek had a detailed answer about the direction of the wind.

It was because she had a team member who was a sailor, and Swiatek had learned a few tricks, that eventually came in handy. Even Wilander did not know that until today.

Notably, Swiatek will now play one of her toughest opponents so far in the tournament. Even though Vondrousova has never beaten Swiatek on clay, anything is possible in tennis.
