Polish tennis has seen a revival at the hands of two young and upcoming stars on both the WTA and ATP tours in the form of 19-year old Iga Swiatek who is ranked World No. 17 in the WTA rankings and Hubert Hurkacz, the 24-year old who is ranked World No. 16 on the ATP tour.

Both the young stars have given some great and consistent performances since their debut and have brought Poland back on the international stage.

19-year old Swiatek won the 2020 French Open without dropping a set and causing 2 major upsets on the course of her title. With the victory she broke many records, becoming the first Polish player to win a singles Grand Slam and also became the youngest singles winner at the French Open since Monica Seles in 1992.

Hubert Hurkacz has been in some amazing form especially in 2021, winning 2 titles that include the Miami Open Masters, his maiden Masters title and his 3rd overall. His Miami Open triumph earned him praise from World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and World No. 2 Rafael Nadal who called his victory ‘Great for tennis’.

The exhibition-match of Iga Swiatek vs Hubert Hurkacz is set to be played on 13th July and will be held in the Polish city Gdynia and can attract a full house given the safety protocols for the charitable event they are playing the match for.
