The upcoming UFC White House event is creating massive buzz worldwide ever since Donald Trump announced it publicly. CEO Dana White has been consistently occupied with logistics in order to ensure the ambitious vision turns into a reality. For the main event, Conor McGregor seems like the obvious superstar choice, though Ilia Topuria has now contested the spotlight.

Recently, McGregor appeared on Fox News, where he confidently announced his availability for the historic UFC White House main event. He further revealed plans to face longtime rival Michael Chandler, promising fans an unforgettable night filled with fireworks.

The Irishman emphasized his personal relationship with Trump, highlighting respect and admiration for the USA, where he got his success. However, uncertainty looms as the current pound-for-pound king, Topuria, has expressed serious interest in featuring on the card.

Who wants to bet with me that I’m the main event at the White House.

Topuria is currently the UFC’s biggest active star, capturing the lightweight championship in his last fight at UFC 317. His knockout wins includes elite names like Max Holloway, Alexander Volkanovski, and Charles Oliveira. Beyond fighting skills, Topuria also understands the fighting business, cleverly using trash talk and charisma to successfully promote himself.

‘El Matador’ is often compared to Conor McGregor, with rivals frequently accusing him of directly copying the trademark ‘Notorious’ persona. Recently, Topuria escalated attention by calling out boxing superstar Terence Crawford, echoing McGregor’s famous crossover fight against Floyd Mayweather. Additionally, Topuria has an ongoing beef with McGregor, labeling him an alcohol addict who tarnished his reputation

Ilia Topuria is undeniably the bigger star compared to Michael Chandler, and Dana White fully understands the marketing value behind it. Considering the heated rivalry’s potential, it would not surprise anyone if ‘El Matador’ secures a main event bout with McGregor.

However, the demand for wanting an American to headline the White House event will favor McGregor if he is fit to compete. After all, Michael Chandler is a proud patriot and a Trump supporter, making the occasion meaningful for him to headline against Conor McGregor. The UFC White House event could therefore witness history, showcasing two megastars colliding in a fight fans will never forget.

Conor McGregor plans to bring back his old lethality to the White House event

Conor McGregor, in his prime, was a feared knockout artist as he dismantled opponents with precision and power to secure UFC championships. His legendary 13-second knockout over Jose Aldo remains the greatest example of his mental warfare and striking brilliance inside the cage.

However, with time and inactivity, Conor McGregor lost sharpness, as many believe his boxing career disrupted his traditional karate-based fighting stance and aggressive kicking style. With one victory in his last four appearances, fans are doubting McGregor’s ability to return successfully and dominate again.

However, he is currently preparing for his comeback fight and has shared multiple training clips to show his commitment. In his recent post on X, the Irishman has talked about reviving his knockout power at the White House event.

I have so much aggression built up that I must release. I will throw harder and more venomous than I have ever thrown before. I have been punching way incredibly harder in my most recent preparative efforts and I delight in the thought of doing it live again. My shots whistle through the air like rockets!  It’s why, and how, I hold every fiscal record in the entire book of fighting.

Conor McGregor boldly predicted he would secure a first-round knockout victory in the main event, generating tremendous excitement worldwide. The Irish superstar also revealed he expects to earn around $100 million, similar to his payday against Floyd Mayweather. Fans are curious to see whether McGregor ultimately faces Michael Chandler or challenges Ilia Topuria instead.
