When Chris Paul left the Los Angeles Clippers to join the Houston Rockets, Pat Bev was sent to the Clippers to take his place. He quickly became a fan favorite and leader of the team. The Clippers also made it to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in their history.

When it came time for Bev’s contract to be re-negotiated, the team offered him only 5 to 6 million dollars.“For them to come in and ‘We’re only looking for you get 5 or 6 million dollars,’ I felt like that was the ultimate spit to my face when I literally just changed this whole organization around. said Pat Bev. It was clear that he felt insulted by the offer.
