LA Lakers’ Jared Dudley picks Anthony Davis over Lebron James for the 2020-21 season MVP. During the 2017-18 season’s MVP voting, Davis came third. Playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony Davis showed no signs of slowing down. As a result, he was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers. And as everyone is aware, his duo with Lebron James fulfilled the promise by delivering the 17th ring for the Los Angeles side.

Talking about the 2019-20 season, Lebron James finished 2nd in the MVP voting. Whereas his teammate Davis, finished 6th. Coincidently when the last team two members from the same team were nominated for the MVP, it was Shaq and Kobe Bryant for the LA Lakers only.

“Anthony Davis is the future” Jared Dudley

“I’m expecting AD to go for the MVP,” Dudley said. “I’m expecting him to set the tone. We know LeBron, his years playing in this league, and the accolades he has, but AD doesn’t have some of those accolades. He has the talent, he has the determination, so I’m expecting AD to set the tone early. There might be games he has to miss on back-to-backs, that’s okay, but he’s 27, he should have been Defensive Player of the Year. He’s the future, and he’s the now.”

When it comes to playing together on the court, playing alongside LeBron is only going to boost Davis’ performance. The four-time MVP knows how to get the best out of his teammates. Last season, LeBron made Davis’ job simple by creating the best chances for him and helping him to dominate the opponents, especially in the paint.

Davis, in his first comments since signing the extension Thursday, told Spectrum SportsNet that the championship is already on his mind, as well.

“I’m very motivated, I want to do it again,” Davis said. “When we won the Western Conference finals, Bron said, ‘Just wait until you win a championship and you hold that trophy, your love for winning just grows.’ And ever since holding that trophy, I just want to do it again.

“You want to do hold that trophy over and over and over. You get addicted to winning. So I want that feeling again. I want to hold that Larry O’Brien Trophy again and become a meme where I’m crying and people are using it for everything. Those are good memes.”
