“I’m going to knock you out regardless,” says Derek Brunson replying to Kevin Holland’s personal comments

Derek Brunson is all ready and won’t let any mind games get him ahead of his fight against Kevin Holland. The UFC middleweight veteran is scheduled to fight the “Trailblazer” in the upcoming UFC event on March 21. Derek is 21-7-0 in his professional MMA career.
Ahead of the middleweight bout, Holland has fired some personal verbal strikes towards his opponent. But, Brunson has refused to respond to his verbal barbs and keep his focus on the fight. Derek feels like Holland is trying to get at him like the way Israel Adesanya did in 2018.
“Holland would like to make it personal; he would like to follow the same thing ‘Izzy’ did with the hype,” Brunson told reporters at a Wednesday media day ahead of the card. “It’s funny, he’s doing the exact same thing ‘Izzy’ did. He’s calling me ‘Bumson,’ and I’m like, ‘Bro, ‘Izzy’ said the same thing.
“You’re trying to do exactly what he did.’ So I haven’t been engaging with him because I’m going to fight the way I fought my previous couple of fights,” Derek said on media day. He is coming off a win against Edmen Shahbazyan.
“My goal has always been to get that title shot,” says Derek Brunson

Brunson also told the reporters that he is going to focus on nothing but knocking out his opponent on Sunday. “I’m going to look to knock you out regardless, so like I’m not going to be satisfied until I trap your arms and TKO you. That’s how the fight is going to go no matter what is said or how much trash you’re talking. It’s not going to change the way that I fight.”
Derek also revealed that he Kevin Holland wasn’t his top choice to fight but regardless he will be looking to strive towards getting that title shot. My goal has always been to get that title shot,” Brunson explained. “I’ve been right there, but it’s been twice where if I would’ve won those fights, I would’ve gotten these title shots, but I didn’t do that.
