Every basketball fanatic is aware about the massacre Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry created during their time together for the Golden State Warriors. But as both missed the previous season due to respective injuries, it is first time that they would face each other since their separation. While Warriors’ and Nets were both considered to be major championship contenders, Durant would be having his partner Irving by his side. As far as Curry is considered, he would have to do it without his splash-brother Klay Thompson.

Durant and Curry last played together in the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. Durant came back from an injury, but then hurt his Achilles during the game. That injury ruled him out for the 2019-20 NBA season. Whereas Curry started the 2019-20 season healthy. But then suffered from an arm injury, shortly when he wanted to come back, the pandemic suspended the season.

“The list of guys injured last season is insane” Stephen Curry

Curry said, “I’m just happy we can talk about KD being healthy. And the opportunity for that to happen is there… You think about it from the NBA’s perspective, obviously, there is a lot of storylines there, and a lot of excitement. The list of guys that were hurt last year that are coming back, it’s pretty special man. Good time to be an NBA fan all the way around.”

NBA fans have been waiting for a long time to see Kevin Durant and Steph Curry healthy. And they will finally get that opportunity to see them on opening day, when Durant and the Nets take on his former team – Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
